Jacques Cousteau once called the Sea of Cortez the world’s aquarium. The Sea of Cortez is the narrow sea between the mainland of Mexico and the Baja peninsula. It is one of the most diverse bodies of water on the planet and is home to more than 900 species of fish, thousands of species of invertebrates, and a wide array of marine mammals like sea lions, dolphins and whales.
Whale Watching
Every winter, the gray whales migrate from the cold waters off Alaska to the waters along the Mexican Pacific Coast and the Sea of Cortez. Beginning in mid December and continuing through midMarchyou can see these magnificent creatures in waters of Los Cabos. You may also have the opportunity to see Humpback Whales, Sea Lions, Spinner Dolphins, Bottlenose Dolphins, and Spotted Dolphins.


Surfing
Surfing in Los Cabos offer diverse levels of difficulty and locations and includes some pretty amazing scenery. Cabo is a year round destination for surfing with the basic rule of thumb being Spring and Summer is the best on the Sea of Cortez side and Fall and Winter will bring you to the Pacific side. Whether a beginner in need of surf lessons or a seasoned surfer there is something for everyone in Los Cabos.
